James City County Parks and Recreation will hold adult archery lessons

JAMES CITY COUNTY – James City County Parks and Recreation (JCC) is offering a course for adults interested in learning archery.

The JCC Parks and Recreation Adult Archery Course, for ages 16 and up, will teach recurve archery handling and shooting, with an emphasis on proper technique and upper body strength. body. Those interested can be either beginners or people wishing to improve.

Classes will be held in a four-week session on Saturdays, April 16 through May 7 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Upper County Park, 180 Leisure Rd., Toano.

JCC Parks and Recreation has been running archery lessons for youth and adults for several years in the spring and fall.

“For adults, it’s a chance to learn a new shooting skill or revisit a fun experience from their past,” said archery instructor Wayne Randolph. “Many adults have positive memories of shooting at school, summer camp or scouts. They like to do it again in a safe and controlled archery range, with equipment provided and a coach experienced to hone their skills or just get started.
