Notice of Availability of Funding – Anacostia River Explorers and Green Boats Program
The DOEE is seeking eligible entities to implement the Anacostia River Explorers Program (Project 1) and the Anacostia Green Boats Program (Project 2). These projects aim to educate the public about the district’s water bodies through water experiences of the Anacostia River, with the goal of raising awareness of human impacts on waterways and informing the public on how to minimize negative environmental impact. The total amount available for projects is $320,000. The DOEE is making $230,000 available for Project 1 and $90,000 available for Project 2. The DOEE plans to award two grants for Project 1 and one grant for Project 2.

The deadline for submitting applications is April 4, 2022. The online application must be timestamped no later than 11:59 p.m. on the application due date.
Eligibility: The institutions below can apply for these grant funds:
- Nonprofit organizations, including those with IRS 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) determinations;
- Universities/educational institutions; and
- Private companies.
The DOEE will hold a pre-application public information session regarding this RFP on Thursday March 10 at 3:30 p.m..
