Silver Springs Shores Community Center offering physical education and archery programs for local youth

The Silver Springs Shores Community Center announced two new programs to help keep local youth involved and active during the school year.

The first program offered is Homeschool PE/STEAM. This program will take place every Tuesday starting September 6 and will run continuously throughout the school year. Young participants will be introduced to a variety of physical activities designed to help them improve their motor skills and physical fitness while fostering peer relationships and building self-confidence.

Activities will include cooperative games, archery, fishing, team water sports, field games, team sports, gross motor development, swimming, and various play concepts. fitness. After each lesson is completed, all participants will be able to stay and swim in the community center’s heated pool.

The Homeschool PE/STEAM program costs $15 per month (4 classes) and is aimed at ages 9-15. The program will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 6.

The community center also offers a discovery archery course designed to help children and teens develop confidence with a bow and arrow while promoting practice, building self-confidence and developing skills. friendships.

This unique program is open to participants of all skill levels and will include an introduction to archery, basic skills and drills, and unique 3D target shooting opportunities for participating children and teens. All equipment will be provided and each participant will learn the 11 stages of shooting safely.

During archery lessons, participants will experience various archery challenges including archery, shooting range, target paint balloons, range shooting and pizza shooting. They will also experience an introduction to crossbow and pistol bow. Each class will provide a different shooting experience that is meant to be fun and challenging.

The discovery archery course costs $15 per month (4 lessons) and is aimed at 9 to 17 year olds. The first session will take place at 5 p.m. every Tuesday in September (September 6, September 13, September 20 and September 27).

A second session will take place at 5 p.m. every Tuesday in October (October 4, October 11, October 18 and October 25).
