Strategic Marine Wins Quartet of Contracts for Surya Nautika’s New 40m Fast Crew Boats

Strategic Marine’s 40m Gen3 Fast Crew Boat, designed by Southernly Designs of Australia in conjunction with Strategic Marine, is quickly becoming a favorite among marine service providers. An order for four vessels from new client Surya Nautika, an established Malaysian operator, is the latest in a series of recent orders.

The latest contract for the popular model will see the vessels gradually delivered to licensed contractor Petronas from the first quarter of 2023.

Surya Nautika, provides shipping and offshore support services for Malaysia’s offshore oil and gas industry, with leading clients including Petronas, Shell and ExxonMobil. The company currently owns and operates a fleet of seven crew boats and the new orders will combine both expansion and a fleet renewal program aimed at making Surya one of the largest crew boat operators. in Malaysia. Surya Nautika also provides diving and engineering services in Malaysia and is currently investing in a new saturation diving system and ROVs for its underwater business.

The new vessel is designed to meet the specific requirements of global oil majors and will feature, among other things, a remote-controlled water monitor with a capacity of 1,200 m³/h, making it fully equipped to carry out combat roles. external fire and security watch. functions.

Three Caterpillar C32 engines driving fixed-pitch propellers provide the Fast Crew Boat with a robust and efficient propulsion system. Meanwhile, station keeping and maneuvering capability is enhanced by a tunnel thruster installed at the bow.

Inside, the ship will feature a large galley and mess areas with a dry store for a large crew with extensive operational endurance. The passenger lounge offers 80 comfortable reclining seats arranged with single or twin seats in each row to provide more space and privacy.

The aft deck has a large free area of ​​120 m² with a deck strength of 2 t/m². The vessel’s fuel capacity is 70 m³ and the fresh water cargo capacity is 30 m³, allowing for extended endurance operations at sea.
